Florist and Caterer

Well Cody and I had a productive day this Tuesday. We met with two florists and decided which one we wanted to do the wedding. All I have to do now is call and let him know we're in business. We also had lunch at the place we want to have cater the wedding reception. Wow that's good food. We left our information with them and the owner called Cody later that afternoon. He put us down for July 18th and all we have to do now is when it comes closer to time set up a meeting with him and finalize a few things.

Some of you know that I've been having trouble finding a DJ for the reception. Well at one of the florists they had an advertisement for a website SanAngeloWeddings.com I'm looking up DJ's (sadly there is only one listed) and photographers (only three) and giving them a call tomorrow or Friday to set up meetings next week or the week after.

I say "the week after" because next week on Tuesday will be our 2 year anniversary so I don't know if Cody will want to run around town with me doing wedding stuff or not. He's been VERY patient and helpful so far, which is amazing, most guys I know would be pouting in the corner if his fiance made him help with the wedding. So, given his previous disposition to helping, he might be okay with a few meetings. I'll have to ask him. Another reason I might put it off for a week is because I'm Virtual Teaching all next week in one of my classes. I'm not nervous about it (at all actually) I just don't want to be thinking "Gotta take care of this!" while I'm teaching class.

I don't know if I've already mentioned this, but I've found that if I narrow my "Wedding Do's" (think: Honey Do's) to one or two items a week my stress is considerabley less than if I try to do more at once.

Until I can figure out how to put this list off to the side:
  • Find caterer for rehearsal dinner
  • Caterer for Reception
  • Find DJ for Reception
  • Order invitations
  • Let Coco's Cakes know what my cake will be
  • Find photographer
  • Finalize guest list and get up to date addresses
  • Slowly accumulate first class postage so full price seems less than it actually is
  • "Con" friends and family into helping with decoration creation (They've already said they'd help, I'm joking about conning them. I have awesome friends and family!)
  • Finalize Florist decision
