Well Mom and I went to Houston to shop for wedding dress fabric. When Mom made Katie's wedding dress they shopped for the fabric at this HUGE fabric store called "High Fashion Fabrics" so we decided to look there. As Mom said "If you don't find something there you won't find anything", well she was pretty much right, they have fabric ranging from cheap yardage to $400 a yard. Mom and I made a pit stop on Thursday in New Braunfels so I could meet Garner. He is SUCH a cute baby. Lil' G' (as Nolan calls him) coos and talks non-stop. Gah, I could just eat him up.
We made it to Houston Friday evening after leaving New Braunfels and spent the remainder of the evening at Katie and Aaron's house. Today (Saturday) Katie, Mom and I went to the fabric store and met up with Aunt Lizzie and Aunt Patty (Mom's sisters). We found the base fabric quick like and then the lining. We had a FANTABULOUS helper guy, he knew his stuff. I don't know about the rest of the group but I could barely understand him half the time. Then we found the lace for the top of the dress. So, my dress fabric is purchased and Mom is ready to start making the dress and I'm ready to pose for it! I'm excited about how the dress will turn out, I know Mom'll do an awesome job.
If you want pictures I'll take some and email them to you, but Cody doesn't get to see ANYTHING until July 18th around 430PM.
After lunch at the Hobbit (yes "Hobbit") with the group, Katie, Mom and I went to IKEA. My first time! That store is amazing! I saw a lot of stuff Cody and I could use but since it isn't just my decision I had to hold off on making any purchases. I did buy trashcans though, we need those and they were cheap. Anyway, on the way out Katie mentioned the candles for the centerpieces and we started talking about them. Patrick managed to get disks of mesquite for our centerpieces a while back that have been sitting outside my parent's garage for about a month or so now. Once we made it back to Katie's we started talking about the layout of the Reception and have that scoped out as well as plans for executing the centerpieces and added touches.
Anyone have Barbed Wire they can live without? I'll need approximately 130 ft of it. The tables are about 8ft long and we'll have 16 tables at the reception.
