Ribbon!

So I actually got to spend some time with my girl friends today, this is a novelty because I saw Kari all of five times over the course of last semester. Lauren and I saw each other every day but it was never relaxing. We met for lunch today and then decided to go shopping.

We ran by Hobby Lobby and lo-and-behold, ribbon was 50% off! Now to explain the significance of ribbon, I plan to put my friends to work (read: sweatshop) creating little pouches of bird seed for guests to throw at Cody and I when we leave. Labor intensive? Yes, but cheaper than paying someone to make them! Besides it'll make me feel productive.

The idea is to put about a 1/4 of a cup Mom says a tablespoon would be better of bird seed in the center of a square of white tulle and tie it closed with red and blue ribbon. Haven't made a trial run yet but will soon.

Oh while I'm thinking about it, a while back Cody had an awesome idea to use Wildflower seeds as our favors! He saw Wildseed Farms on his way to or from Austin in Fredericksburg. They have MAROON Bluebonnets, how awesome is that? I want some of those to try and grow them. We've looked through the different flowers and picked a few that we liked out and will look into pricing and personalizing the packaging. Kudos for Cody!
